{"id":34,"date":"2013-07-01T16:10:24","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T20:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ctcouncilofdeliberation.org\/ctscottishrite\/?page_id=34"},"modified":"2013-07-01T16:10:24","modified_gmt":"2013-07-01T20:10:24","slug":"about-cod","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/old.ctscottishrite.org\/index.php\/about-cod\/","title":{"rendered":"About CT Scottish Rite"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><h3>What is a Valley?<\/h3>\n<p>A Valley is to Scottish Rite what a lodge is to Symbolic Masonry.\u00a0 It is where Scottish Rite Masons meet, perform their degree work and enjoy fraternal fellowship.\u00a0 There are five Valleys located throughout\u00a0 Connecticut:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyofbridgeport.org\">Bridgeport<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyofhartford.org\">Hartford<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyofnewhaven.org\">New Haven<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyofnorwich.org\">Norwich<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.valleyofwaterbury.org\">Waterbury<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>What is a \u201cCouncil of Deliberation\u201d?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The 32nd degree Scottish Rite Masons in the Valleys in Connecticut meet under the authority of the Connecticut Council of Deliberation. The Council is governed by a Commander-in-Chief, who is also the Deputy for Connecticut. The Commander-in-Chief is assisted by the Actives for Connecticut. Other members of the Council of Deliberation include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Active Emeriti and Honorary Members of the Supreme Council<\/li>\n<li>Past Presiding Officers of the constituent Bodies in the Valleys of Connecticut<\/li>\n<li>The top three current elected officers of the constituent Bodies<\/li>\n<li>Any other elected officers from the constituent Bodies (e.g., Secreatary, Treasurer)<\/li>\n<li>Recipients of the Arthur M. Brown Meritorious Service Award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Council of Deliberation meets each year, usually, but not always, on the second Friday in June.
