The thirty-third degree, Sovereign Grand Inspector General, is an honorary degree conferred only by the Supreme Council. It cannot be applied for, it cannot be campaigned for. It is awarded on the basis of great service to the public, or great service to the fraternity. The degree is conferred at the Annual Session of the Supreme Council, and its recipients are considered honorary members of the Supreme Council.
The following pages provide a historical list of the Sovereign Grand Inspectors General, 33° from Connecticut, since 1850. This list was compiled through the extensive efforts of Illustrious Brother Kenneth R. Hawkins, 33°, Historian of the CT Council of Deliberation.
